Exotic solid timber flooring offers a choice between several installation methods. Here are some examples :
Installation on flooring sleepers
This installation method is particularly suitable for concrete slabs. The required build-up height can be adjusted depednding on the thickness of the sleepers. Furthermore, height adjustments are also possible by inserting materials underneath the beams. With installations on flooring sleepers the timber planks can either be nailed or screwed down. Exotic recommends the use of screws.
Installation on OSB or particleboard flooring
The major advantages of this installation method are the low build-up height combined with the fact that the flooring bears on over its entire length and screwing is easy and can be done anywhere.
The OSB or particleboards need to be at least 22mm thick.
Installation by all-over adhesion
This installation methods provides a low build-up height and a low level of ambience sounds. For best results irregularities have to evened out and the subfloor must meet all requirements for all over adhesion of solid timber flooring.
Floating floor installation with installation clamps
Solid timber planks in the 128mm width can be installed very easily as a "floating floor", completely without any screwing or nailing, with the help of the special stainless steel installation clamps. (For that, the clamps disappear underneath the planks where they hook into a special groove. A special clip-mechanism enables the cretion of chains which provide the necessary stability.) Another advantage of this installation method is the low build-up height.
